Wildlife Safari in September

We went to Wildlife Safari over the weekend.  The kids had a great time looking at all of the animals.  I think that the park opened in 1972 or 1973.  It wasn't long after, that I went for my first time.  When I went as a kid, you could have your picture taken petting a cheetah, bear, etc., and rode an elephant.  There are no pictures with kids next to wild animals now, probably due to the possibility of a lawsuit.  The elephant rides have been replaced by camel rides, but it is still a great experience for kids.  We took some pictures of some of the animals to share with you.

Brandy packed a picnic lunch.
One of the wildebeests.

This was definitely the king of the bison at the park.  His head was massive.

We are probably closer to this elk (15 feet) than any of our hunter friends will be to one this year.

Just thought this was a cool picture.  This turkey vulture was stretching his wings.

First day of pre-school fall term

Brandy had to go to work early, so I had to get the picture of the first day of school.  Of course, Colton wouldn't stay still.

Colton and I playing catch.  Unfortunately, you never know how close he is going to get before he wings it at you.

Go deep!!!!

An unusually hot day at Autzen.  Temp at game time was around 95.  It was definitely hotter inside the stadium.

There can't be another place that is as great to watch a game at than Autzen Stadium.

This gentleman is known as "Duck Guy".  He has the other teams mascot in a noose every game.  Every time that the Ducks score, he swings the noose for every point that the ducks have and people count along.  Some people hate him, but the majority of us like him.
